Images

Please note we would prefer you supply images in the highest resolution possible as this gives us many creative cropping options for your images. The sizes recommended below are minimum sizes only.

Images are generally used in 3 main ways on the websites we build:

1. As a banner or hero images at the top of a page.

At least 1600px wide and landscape aspect ratio (letterbox shape)

2. In context with the text we have written. E.g. images next to the text.

At least 800px width or height. Any shape is ok.

3. As a background for a section of the webpage.

At least 1600px wide and landscape aspect ratio (letterbox shape)

Images can be sourced in a number of ways.

Stock photos purchased online. We will choose these with your help. We recommend you use these sparingly. Real images of your products or services help build trust.
You take your own photos in-house. New phones take great images these days and you can give us a large range to choose from.
Professional photographer. The best option if it fits your budget.

Text (website copy)

Please upload your website text in separate word files or plain text files. One document per web page.

We will discuss with you our level of involvement in the copywriting process. It varies from minimal (a few tweaks here and there), up to we do all the copywriting, including researching your target market and writing text specifically targeted to your audience.

Documents for download

Any documents that you want clients to download need to be in (pdf) format, not word docs, and be clearly labelled and organised into folders if appropriate.

Video

All videos should be uploaded to a video service such as youtube or vimeo. Please do not upload videos to pCloud

Create a text file and let us know the URL of the video and information on where it is to be placed on the website.

Logos and branded artwork

Ask your graphic designer for the original files where possible. The best file formats are Photoshop (psd), Illustrator (ai), PDF (pdf), or (eps).

To enable us to complete your web project on time and on budget we recommend these documents and images are uploaded to your shared folder as soon as possible. Generally we will not start on a project until all items are available.
